Foundation MMS(TM) for Solaris(R) is part of ONE's Foundation Series ofintegrated, standards- based communications products designed formission-critical networking environments. Foundation Series products areused today in infrastructural communications applications includingtelecommunications, automated air traffic control and air defensesystems, electric utility energy management and manufacturing.Foundation MMS complies with specifications, profiles and recommendationsspecific to the electric utility industry and manufacturing including:

Foundation MMS is supported on many popular UNIX and real-timeembedded systems platforms. Application interfaces for Foundation MMS areidentical across platforms. Protocol Services are accessed through awell defined 'C' language Application Program Interface (API) that allowsrapid application development. The API provides tracing and loggingfaciltiies for quick debugging. Foundation MMS is accompanied by exampleapplication source code. Services supported include: ConnectionManagement Services- used to establish and terminate a connection withanother MMS application. Services include: Listen, Initiate, Conclude,Abort and Reject. Virtual Manufacturing Device (VMD) Services- used toquery certain operating conditions of the VMD. Services include: Status,GetNameList and Identify. Variable Access Services- used to supporttyped variables defined at the VMD. ListOfVariable and NamedVariableListare supported as is AlternateAccess. Services include: Read, Write,InformationReport, GetVariableAccessAttributes, DefinedNameVariableList,GetNamedVariableListAttributes and DeleteNamedVariableList. OperatorCommunication Services- used to send text messages to an output display.Services include: Output. Program Invocation Management Service- usedto control the execution of programs at the VMD. Services include: Start,Stop, Resume, Reset, Kill and GetProgramInvocationAttributes. EventManagement Services- used to define, send and receive EventNotificationsto/from a VMD. Services include: EventNotification.
